The incubation of salmon eggs in 3 Springs stream on the Opihi river this year was very successful. The Opihi group consisting of Roger Low, Lynsday Galbraith, and Richard and Brian Davidson have placed the incubator adjacent to the spring and lovingly looked after the eggs during the winter. Out of 50,000 eggs they placed in the incubator, greater than 45,000 have successfully hatched and are zipped up and swimming freely. Well done to this dedicated team.

Roger and Lyndsay have just released the last 3 hundred remaining from the incubator and bought the gear back for cleaning and storing ready for next year. A 2nd successful year of rearing eggs at Three Springs. Thanks once aqain to the McKinnon's team for the eggs.
