First transfer for the year.

Earlier in March, 5000 salmon fry, at approx. 55grams, were transferred from the hatchery to the spawning race at Rangitata South Irrigation Ltd. Hopefully they will acclimatise themselves to this environment and if they consider it to be a safe place, will return to this very area in 2 years time at a considerably larger size. Members of Fish and Game and Hatchery volunteers facilitated the transfer.
